AwesomeDot Podcast #2 – Dive deep into Polkadot Testing Suite

May 18th, 2024
21 mins 06 secs

ABOUT THIS EPISODE

In this episode, we’re excited to have ‘Hristo Gergov’ from Lime Chain joining us. Lime Chain is a company specializing in customizing web3 and blockchain projects. They’ve been actively involved in the Polkadot ecosystem for three years now, contributing to various projects such as Gosamble and Fruzhin.

Gosamble serves as an alternative to Substrate, built on Golang. Meanwhile, Fruzhin is a Java implementation of the Polkadot Host, aiming to enhance the security of the Polkadot Protocol by functioning as an authoring and relaying node.

Hristo also sheds light on a proposal for a conformance test set leveraging the Zombienet framework, whose purpose is to ensure protocol compliance across all Polkadot implementations. This initiative seeks to enhance reliability and resilience within the ecosystem, ultimately contributing to its growth and success.

During the podcast, Yogesh engages in an interactive discussion with Hristo, delving into the rationale behind the conformance test suite and its relationship with Lime Chain and Fruzhin. They also explore plans for implementing hosts on Polkadot 2.0 and discuss the challenges and experiences faced during the project’s development. Additionally, they touch upon the timeframe for the project’s completion and how other parachains could leverage the host implementation built by Zombienet.

It’s an insightful conversation offering a deeper understanding of Lime Chain’s contributions to the Polkadot ecosystem and the innovative projects they’re spearheading. Tune in to learn more about the exciting developments in blockchain technology!
